My pinion bearings are crap and was wondering if it is absolutely necessary to use a puller to remove the old bearings, or is it possible to use another method to pull them off and install a new set? thanks in advance.

You should have this tool if you work in a shop, but if you dont, most shops have them, even some auto parts stores will pull and press berings for a small fee
