I'm ALSO having the same problem. Mine has a humming type of sound while under acceleration and starts turning into a whine after about 35 mph and only gets louder the faster i go.

Be careful, but this works to pin-point the noise. On a road with no traffic, get the car up to 35-40 MPH and hold the throttle steady. Then slowly pull up on he E-Brake, if the sound changes, it is your outside wheel bearings.

This is per the Chevrolet Factory Shop Manual.

Pulling the ebrake, changes the load on the outside wheel bearings, if the sound changes, the noise will change significantly. You may also notice this on off ramps, as you change the load between the wheels. Good luck.

playboy245 ... is yours doing any of this?

I'm getting a high-pitch whine like a jetliner slowing down when coming in for a landing. This is on deceleration ... no other noises until I slow down to about 10 mph and turn slightly right or left ... sounds like a combination of tires rubbing and metal grinding. It's not coming from anywhere but the rearend. The tires all have good clearance and the neoprene bushings in my LCA's and P/H Bar have been pumped full of grease.

To verify, I took it down to the dealership and they said the setup was wrong. This didn't start until I took it to the shop to get the pinion seal replaced. It's gotten worse over the past few weeks, so, gonna' have to get it in the shop.

I have a Strange 12-bolt with 3:73 gears (A4). Rear axle seal was replaced about 6 months ago and the car only has 58,000 miles on it. I do have an adjustable torque arm. Any ideas?
