Default Moser 9" w/ UMI adj. Torque arm is Making my car SHAKE...HELP

Hey guys like the title says the moser 9" and UMI adj. torque arm w/ relocation bracket and making my car shake like crazy. The pinion angle was set at 0 and it would shake really badly at about 60 mph. Today we changed the pinion angle to -2.5 and it shakes just as bad at 60 mph + it shakes very badly at low mph too now. The car shakes more when i am accelerating than if i let my foot of the gas. Let me know if you have had similiar experiences or if you have any idea what i can do to fix it. Thanks guys

I installed umi adj t/a and umi crossmember on my z28.I have 12 bolt .My car vibrated around 60 mph with the stock arm and new crossmember. So i would say it is normal.

Its not like a small vibration. Its a really loud and serious shake vibration. Everything in the car shakes. What do you have you pinion angle set at?

I measured the angle with the stock arm in and went 1.5 down from there. It seem's to have less vibration at this setting. I also measured the crank pulley to make sure it was right.

So you you have it set at -1.5 from what the stocker is? And you measured the crank pulley on the motor to make sure the crank pulley was what?? 'I dont understand what you are saying about the crank pulley....please explain

Sounds like the TA relocation is the problem. I've heard that once you put those on the car can have bad vibrations. Not sure on how to fix the problem. Might want to call UMI and ask for advice.

that would make sense since there is not really anything to help with damping ont he relocation bracket. I guess ill give them a call tomorrow.....or if they could chime in here that would also be nice.....

Moser 9in + UMI full suspension owner here. I donot have the problem you describe. The way I got my "0" degree pinon angle was by taking getting the car onto a drive on lift so the suspension was loaded. Then take a reference measurement with the magnetic angle finder on the transmission output area. Bear in mind you won't be able to put it directly on the output shaft but you can get a good enough measurement with it on the flat ridge of the output taishshaft case. Then with respect to that measurement check the angle on the rear.

1) measure the pinion angle correctly.
2) those relocation brackets for the tq arm are great but create tons of vibration in the car. no more stock feel.

I agree with #2 but not in a jarring way @ 60mph like the OP described.

For the OP, do you happen to have the subframe connectors? I have the 3pt weld ins. Maybe that helps dampen some. I still think in your case the angle just isn't setup right for the results you described.

I had a Spohn tunnel mounted TA and had all kinds of vibrations and noise. Sold it a week later.
