Good question. I guess at that point they just go ahead and get one of the TPs.

hmmm.
I know one guy who was going to get a ST4000 but got shipped a 3500 and liked it so it didn't send it back. I wonder what the other guys who said they were getting one did?

From what I understand, the chattering issues were with the Super Thrusters, not just the ST4000, I have not had any chattering problems with mine.

Thanks. That means mid 1.6s with 3.23s I would think.

And you don't have any issues with clutch chatter? Say, don't you feel the need to upgrade to a TP4400 or something? (I gotta find me a ST3800 for sale that doesn't chatter!)

I would love to upgrade to a 4400 Colonel but I think the 3800 is perfectly suited to my combo. I installed it and only lost about half a MPH and I gained 2 tenths with no traction.

If I go 4400 I will have to get a cage. I will stay at 12.0's for now and worry about the cage when I stop flyin so danged much.

Appreciate the offer tho. BTW, hows the NBM monster comin together?

Later, Stu

Are you saying that you lost a MPH by going from the stock converter to the ST3800? You should have gained a MPH or better from the swap I would think.

I'll keep updating the project in my "Colonel's next project car" thread in the racer's lounge. Right now she's still %100 stock. Just getting a few break-in miles before the weekend. If tropical storm Isidore will hurry the hell up and get out of Alabama by tomorrow night I'll get some baseline runs and maybe a couple of runs with FRA, then lid, and then K&N. Next weekend will be FTRA, the next will be the underdrive pulley, the next an electric cuttout, and then it's on to a set of drag radials and a TQ converter.

I only lost "BEST" MPH. I ran a best of 113 before with my TCI and ran a best of 112 with the ST3800.

The only verter I have had that I lost MPH with is the Vig3600. I lost 2 full MPH with it.

Good luck with the car. Are you anywhere near Altus, OK? I am comin down there for school in Jan
I would love to see that motor up close.
