do u guys run a new race tranny for 500 miles then change the fluid and filter? what type of fluid should be used during the break in period

1. Run it VERY easy for 400 miles.
2. Over the next 50 miles start getting into it progressively harder...1/3 to 1/2 throttle, at 450 start going to 1/2 to 3/4 throttle, and then around 500 start edging it into WOT.

Note: that is NOT 500 miles of free way driving... but 500 miles of city, stop and go driving.

This will compact the clutch material and make for a long lived tranny.

Fluid? I just use whatever is on sale and is a "brand name".

Change the fluid often. At least once every racing season.
