Default 9inch and torque arm

My question is pretty simple are the provitions for the torque arm on the moser 9inch on the third member or are they on the housing. i want to by the housing and axle from moser and then later build my own third memeber but my friends seem to think the third memeber is special due to arer torque arm.

I advise people to check the torque arm fitment before installing the rear. We've used a lot of different brands of torque arms on Moser 9 inch rears, sometimes a little grinding is necessary. Bob

My umi tunnel mount w/dsl fit fine, no real problems. The stock one actually fit better but snapped it pretty quick.

Just had the same issue. Apparently, the Moser 9" torque arm provisions are all over the board as far as fitment. I had a Moser 9" and had some guys try to install a Spohn tunnel mount tq arm and it took some time. The rear end tq arm provisions were off by like 3/4" that was causing some major bind when then tried to put the car down. They had to "fix" it and it was a major PITA.

i was wondering if the rear was in the jig wrong when they welded the tubes that the mount bolts to or what....how did they fix it? did they mess with the t/a or the mount?

Apparently they decided to fix it with the torque arm. The bracket is just a huge chunk of metal and they didn't want to fool with that. I think they called both Moser and Spohn and each one said to modify the others piece (I know hard to believe ) It probably was something messed up in the jig and Spohn actually said they had seen this before because the tubes were all over the place in mounting location on the bracket.

Post pictures of the TA mounting location on the rear not at the tunnel if you have any.

Question

The only way to figure out what is wrong, and what needs to be corrected is to get some measurements. Some good pictures of what might be wrong would be of help. Bob
