Default 3.08 ratio!

I see plenty of people upgrading to 3.23, 3.42, 3.73 etc. My car has the stock 2-series carrier with 2.73 gears. Has anyone gone with 3.08's? I guess they're more common in the GM trucks. It would make things easier since I could retain my seemingly good diff, yet get rid of the 2.73's. Thoughts?

I woudln't bother, just hit up a set of 3.73's. Gears will make or break a cars performance.

A4? just go w/ 3.42's or 3.73's. I had 3.42's in my A4 and i got off the line alot harder than w/ the 2.73's.

You could do like me and get gears for a 2 series carrier. That way you can keep your diff.

Take a look a Thunders site, forgot about that. The strange gears are offered in "thick" so that you can keep the 2-series carrier.

I was thinking that. Did you just get a spacer, or are thicker gears available that just bolt on?

Were quieter than stock for about 1200mi, then they started to whine about the same as stock.

I only used 3.08's because they came stock in my 8.2" rear in my chevelle,
