Default Whats stronger a strange s60 or a moser 9"

Need to get a rearend to go behind my new 408. I've heard the moser is stronger and I've heard the the dana s60 is stronger. Which one is it? The 9" with trutrak only comes in a 31 spline. The dana a 35 spline. The ones who like the 9" say theres more strengh overall in that design even if the axles are smaller. Anybody know for sure.

Stock to stock the Dana 60 is stronger, when they are modded up they are very comparable. Point is, with either of these aftermarket rears you will have a hard time breaking them.

No experience with the dana s60, but my friend has a 9" and it holds 525whp with 4.5k clutch drops on the street easily. I don't think you'll break it.

Show me one person who has blown up their Strange S60 due to a complication with the rear-end itself, and I'll paypal you $100 right now.

I saw Speed Inc. web site they say they dana s60 is rated for 1200 rwhp. Thats seems high because I thought the 9" and the dana were rated about the same. The 9" tru trak I thought was rated around 650 rwhp. If the dana is rated that high it looks like I'm going with the dana unless someone can show me the 9" is rated as high.

I am not sure the dana is rated that with just hd posi. I want a rear end that can take around 1000 engine hp. I don't want a spool or locker .So hoping that is true about the dana. Also think traction is a big variable and wheel hop. If you don't get hop think you can put a lot more power thru the rear end.Any rear end.If you do then its more about how much traction. On the street bet much harder to hurt rearends than hard track use.

I am 99% sure going with dana 60. It lets me keep abs and is bolt on but the driveshaft needs to be cut or buy shorter one.

the ring and pinion as well as the axles will hold 1200 hp. more than that you will need to upgrade both. this is with a spool. no posi in teh world will last long behind 1K hp.

Is your car a three channel? Because if I can keep my ABS I'm buying the s60 for sure!

If you have traction control, you have four channel. If not, three channel.

With all the upgrades and such it seems those 9" mosers get to be about 3k.. never realized the rear end would get to be soo expensive.

Shrugs hurts my wallet to think Ill need it with my future wish list of prc heads, fast 90/90 and ignition/fuel stuff.. especially if I ever want to enjoy town cruising with drag radials hehe. Gah then I think about the cluth upgrade..

ugh heh.. it never ends does it?

Yeah my car is three channel so would lose the abs on 9 inch but hear you can modify it to keep the abs. Still think going dana 60 though. 9 inch would spool would be fine but not into spools.
