Default Need info about gears and converter for 02 A4

I have a 2002 A4 Z-28 with 2.73's. I feel like the 2.73's are holding my car back, so I was thinking of swapping my rear with one from an M6 that has 3.42's. I don't have the money for a 12 bolt or 9" so thats not possible right now. However, I was reading through the forms and saw that getting a good stall might help as well. Which is the best route to go?

By the way this car will see no drag time, just want to be fast on the street.

the 3:73 gears and 3500 stall combo have worked well for me so far. the car really takes off from a low roll. at a higher roll i dont think it launches as hard but you're pretty much in the meat of the powerband when you floor it.

get a yank stall and some motive gears.

^^^ I agree w/ him although I went to 3.42 route instead of 3.73. I have yank 3500 and 3.42 rear from M6.

Yeah, I know I definitely would want the 3.42 gears if I went that route, but could I wake my car up just as much by getting a converter instead of the gears?

You'll feel the stall 10 times more than gears. 3200-3600 should be good for you. The higher you go the looser it will feel until you really hit the gas. I agree, go with yank.
