I hear 2 bottles works better than 1 in a posi, anyone care to comment on this thinking?
Could 2 hurt anything?

2 bottles may be too much.

The idea is to modify the friction CE of the lubericant so that the clutches dont chatter. With too little... it will still chatter... with too much however, it will effectively change the bias and it will not operate correctly. In fact, it could be so much that it will feel and operate like that of an open differential.

I dont use more than 4oz in most applications... depending on the lubericant being used. On the EATON HD units that come in the aftermarket 12bolts... I have had to use a little more on some, but not too too many. Same for the 9".

But I have had to run 2 bottles in the majority of the DANA60's and larger. They have a considerable amount more surface area and its common for large DANA type differentials.

FWIW... The Ford Friction Modifier works the best IMO. Part# M-19546-A

I was told if you use a synthetic gear oil in your rear end that you dont need additive

That may be true... if... the additive is already in the synthetic lube.

I still wouldnt use a synthetic anyway...

Read the label on the bottle. If it is in there, it will say so. For example, my bottle of Royal Purple says "Contains Limited Slip Additive".

The GM part number is 1052358, shouldn't be more than $6-7 at the dealer.
For a clutch style I would use the Ford additive, for an Auburn I would use the GM.

Also, dont confuse that with "Safe for use in Limited Slip Differentials", which doesnt mean the additive is in there.
