It helps minimize torque inflicted movement.(pro)

It will rattle your teeth out of your head.(con)
The car will vibrate to an extreme.(con)

I have one sitting in my garage. I ran it on the car for about two days and the wife could not take it anymmmmooooorrrrreeee.lol. Mine is an A4. Some say it helps prevent the y-pipe from banging, but that's not an issue for me. I hope this helps.

I didn't notice anything either. Only at WOT you will notice extra vibrations. But at WOT things get loud anyway.

i put one on my a4 about a month ago, and i didnt notice any harsh vibrations with the install. i did it to stop the y pipe from banging, but that didnt fix it. no problems with the tranny mount though

I don't see how ANYONE can live WITHOUT ONE!

I just put mine in and it is GREAT...a little mroe vibration but that is it. NO wheel hop shifts are FIRM and the car just transfers power like it should! (M6)

WHATEVER you do though do NOT put in the big metal plate it comes with and grind down the two nubs to make it flush. Acts almost like stock till you get on it. Night and Day difference. I can't believe i waited so long to do it.

Well hell, I may just take out my mouth piece and give it another shot. The wife loved the vibration part , but the chattering of the teeth she couldn't stand. Yes , I am kidding and please don't let that one get back to the wife or I'll live the life of a monk for the next year. No offense if there are any monks here. Thanks for all the posts and a TTT for ya!!!

Had mine in for nearly 2 years. Just for grins I swapped the stocker back in last month and drove it for a week. I could not tell any difference in sound/vibration. I remember there was more vibration when I first installed it, but that was before the power mods and the 12-bolt were done.

The best mod I ever did on my car was removing my poly trans mount on my A4(the vibration in the console on the I-state was unbearable), I just went with a lLE and have had no problems with it

Did a search at AutoZone's website and I got 2 part numbers: 3.1108G C nad 3.1108G X . The GC is $24.99 and the GX is $29.99. What are the differences?

I installed my ploy mount last month and love it. Ditto on the vibration at 3k to 6k rpms but it keeps my y-pipe from banging and my shifter is solid.

I am the guy that always replies to this question. The poly tranny mount is actually designed for the LT1, and it is a couple of mm's too tall. The top of the trans rubs against the tunnel and transmits a huge amount of noise at 2200 rpm aand up. The fix is to put one fender washer, with a 3/8ths inch hole I think, between the floor and the crossmember, at each of the 4 bolts that hold the trans brace to the floor. This will lower the trans back to stock height and the noise is basically gone. A slight vibration is normal, but noise like a helicopter going by is not.

Tom, Thanks for the info. I am going to give it a shot. I put my Poly mount back in and didn't tell the wife to see if was all that noticable and the response I got was " The car feels like maybe something is about to fall off of it".LMAO. The funny thing is....that's exactly what it feels like. I'll give the washer mod a shot. Thanks.

I measured the prothane one compared to the stocker (on an 01), and its an 1/8" shorter.
