Default Redo carrier bearings when redoing pinion bearing? (99Tahoe)

I have to redo the pinion bearing at some point in the Tahoe, not an emergency or anything... But would you also plan to redo the carrier bearings too? Truck just has a ton of miles on it. 99 Tahoe with 114K on it.

it isn't necessary unless they need to be replaced. Any competent mechanic can look at the bearings and tell you how worn they are. They are just simple caged roller bearings. Its easy to look at them and see how worn they are.
