Question converter or gears

i have been reading that the converter can do justice just as the rear end. is this right? and if so which would do more justice for the street and ocasional track. i have my exhaust and intake done, shift kit, but i am unsure of the stall. any advice on this would be very appericated.

Do a stall. A Yank while you are at it. A stall will make your car a beast.

What would be a good set of gears for street running after a stall?

I've got the stock 2.73's in now..

Don't let people tell you 2.73s are worthless because they aren't. I ran 11.80s in my old car with a shitty TCI 3K converter and the F13 from Futral. But when you change them I'd say either 3.42s or 3.73s. Also get a converter in the 3500-3800 range and enjoy

what would be a safe stall to use on a rebuilt tranny with a shift kit and all the rest is stock. it has like 93k on the motor which means also the rear. i dont want to break anything or lose power. but if something breaks i would just have to replace it sooner lol.
