Default Rear End Experts Plz :)
I am getting ready to buy a moser 9 inch.. is the aluminum center section worth the extra money?? if so what is so special about it ?

it is lighter and stronger than a stock cast steel center section

Yes, the aluminum will save some weight. If you have already stripped a lot of weight out of your car, then the additional weight savings will be worth it to you. Bob

Get a thru bolt aluminum case if you do end up purchasing an aluminum center...

today i called moser and they said dont do aluminum center section.. i ordered a moser 9inch 35 spline axles cast center section.. so hopefully i made a good choice.. this rear end will hopefully support my 1000+ rwhp goal.. thx for you help

Well... that is why. You didnt specifically state 1000hp. That changes the game all together...

I just got the N case for mine as well, leaving off a trans brake they didnt want me to use the Alu center section

Hmmmm, so at what RWHP/RWTQ level, etc, would you NOT want the Alum center section? Which is actually stronger?

It happens. Most manufacturers sell their items at full MSRP, and let their dealers charge less, so that consumers will buy from the dealers. This relieves the manufacturers from a lot of phone calls, many of those calls are people just inquiring about the products. Bob
