im looking into a budget 9" using a housing/33 spline axle package from exotic performance...you can find a junkyard center section with 4.11s installed on a 31 spline posi for next to nothing...there doesnt seem like alot of information regarding what fits inside of these things...are center sections limited on what size spline they can hold, or will a 31 spline section only hold 31 spline spools? id like to swap a 33 sp. spool into it if possible.

I'm not exactly sure on what fits, but I do know there are alot of diffrent center sections, and also you have to make sure you get the right bearings....

it depends on the center section to what bearings you need, the carrier/spool will be the same. unless you know what your getting dont waste you money on a junk yard center, the only center you want to get is an N series case and there hard to find, its worth it just to buy a new case from moser. if you buy a junk yard center and it blows you can take the tail shaft out of your trans brake a drive shaft, it gets ugly when a rear blows

Budget and 33 spline don't go together. If you want budget, go with 31 spline stuff.

actually you can get the axles for the same price its all in the kit, you can get 31,33 or 35, I got 35 spline on mine and put a spool in there, I built my whole rear for 1900 bucks, 9 inch narrowed 4 inches, N series center section, 35 spline spool,HD Alu pinion support 3.70 richmond gears, rear support girdle.

Whatever splines on the axles that you order, will dictate what center section you will be using. If you order the housing and axles with a 31 spline on the axles, then you will need a center section for 31 spline use. Bob
