Default Shaking from the 9"

I've been having lots of shaking/vibration coming from the rear. when I had the 10 bolt in, at around 70mph I would get a vibration from the rear end every other second, consistently. I finally broke the 10 bolt then upgraded to a ford 9" w/moser center. The vibration got worse. This is with the stock torque arm, drive shaft and a 1310 pinion on the moser. I change the pinion yoke to a 1350, upgraded to a pst aluminum DS and bought a bmr adjustable torque arm. The vibration is still there. I've adjust the torque arm a few times and still no success. It was at -2 and now about -3. The vibration seems very consistent at higher mph. It does not do it if I'm cruising under 50. It usually starts to really act up once I give it a WOT through 3-4 gear. Deceleration causes a really bad vibration. The vibration gets worse when I pull it out of gear. Has or does anyone else have this problem?

There's another post from last week that had a pretty good write-up. Check it out. You really have to get your pinion angle right to fix it.

Scott built the Moser center. The yoke was replaced by a place that specializes in drivelines

What are your angles between the trans tail shaft and drive shaft and between the drive shaft and pinion shaft?

I had to get mine down to less than 1 degree to lose the vibration. Make sure you start be getting the pinion and the trans shafts at the same angle (so they are parallel). Then try moving the pinion down 0 to 1 degree.

Okay, I've adjusted it from 0 all the way to -5 and it still shakes. I called Moser and they said it's the driveshaft length. Now my question is how do I measure for the appropriate length driveshaft. This sucks because I just bought a brand new PST 3.5" aluminum with a stock length

Here is a link to the PST chart to figure out correct length. Unless the driveshaft is binding in the transmission, I don't see it being the problem. Bob

What about being too short? I can't seem to get the correct angle. I was going to take it to a driveline shop but they basically told me I've been doing everything that I could.
