Jericho 4 speed? Whats the scoop on this for an LS1?
1.How does it work?
2.How does it get driven?
3.Use the clutch to shift gears or not?
4.What does one need to bolt this to an LS1?
5.Why arent more people running this?

Judson runs this (or used to when their car was running 10s on a factory shortblock). The tranny is just like any other 4 speed from what I know about it. Uses a clutch to shift all gears just like any other manual.

1- Works with strait cut gears, and "dog" ring enguagement- no syncros
2-Gets driven with the clutch only on take off, regular 1-2/2-3/3-4 gear changes have no need for clutch use, just let off the gas, and change gears! Its a bad *** feeling, thats for sure
3- See #2
5- Its is expensive, Loud, Clanky, whines, and most of all, has to get rebuilt every so often, depending on the driver, to replace the dogs.
If the driver is soft on it, it wont need rebuilding. We have gone 2 years on dogs before.

I think You can get a 4th over drive. The cup cars make 3rd 1:1, so that they can run in that, then for gas mileage, they plunk it in 4th- usually only a few hundred rpms.
