rear info
rear info Ok i bought a rear off a fellow member. How do i find info on the rear? I know it has 342 gears and it is a four channel. He said it was out of a 2002 m6 z28. What type of posi unit did they use in 2002. how can i find out what size carrier it is? I would like to order a diff cover are all 10 bolts the same size? What is the best fluid to put back in the rear?

Should be a 3 series carrier w/torsen - diff covers are the same size. What are you wanting to do? If your car has traction control too just swap the entire rear into yours - plug and play (except for the speedo setting).
Noone answered this so.. axles ARE the same. If you do have a torsen diff, additive is not needed. Here is a pic of a torsen if you do not know what one looks like. http://www.geocities.com/duragizer44...es/torsen1.jpg

Don't know if the owners manual is wrong or not - but when I installed my TA cover I used the additive just to be sure, only a few dollars. I'll look in my helms to see what it says tomorrow.
