Here is what Paul at Thunder Racing told me:

For a NA M6 go with 4.10s.
For a Supercharge or Nitrous M6 go with 3.73 as you may run out of gear on 1/4 mile with 4.10s.

If you are an auto I think you replace the above 4.10 with 3.73 and 3.73 with 3.42.

The above applies to keeping the stock tire height. If you increase the tire height then the higher gears are OK as the increase tire height reduces the overall gear ratio.

I would suggest 373 or 342. I had 410 and then put in the 373 and the car ran the same in the 1/8. But I had more gear for the 1/4. Driving around rpm's seem to be alot better too. No more always i overdrive around town. Hope this helps.

I just put 4.10's in my m6 and love it. Planning on slicks with my 150 shot so I think I am on the right path.

When I had my 6-speed I went from 3.42's to 4.10's, it was a nice difference, I enjoyed flooring it in first gear and hearing the tires rip apart...

I now have 3.73's with my TH400/3500 stall setup...3.73's are a good "in between" gear...

Not too aggressive, not too mild...

OK, so whats the deal when going from a 2.73 to a higher Gear, my buddy has a set of 3.73's that are laying around that he wants to give me.

Someone mentioned something about a 2 or 3 series carrier variance?

going from 2.73's to any gear is going to be a big change, I would buy those 3.73's, you will love them..

I plan on getting them , just need to know if they will fit my car. Ive heard that 2.72's had series 2 carriers and I need a 3 to run 3.73's

Default 3.42s, 3.73s, or 4.10s??

Ok, these 2.73 gears are killing me. They're coming out. I already have a set of 3.42s sitting around, planned on putting them in the Buick but it's gonna be down a while and might end up needing more gear there anyway. Would it be worth it to just throw in some 3.73s or even 4.10s instead of the 3.42s I already have ready to go in? What are the advantages/disadvantages of each of these gears?

Yea you probably need to get a 3 series carrier. Though you can buy 373 for a 2 series. You just need to check what carrier their for.
