Default 3 channel ABS on a Ford 9" CAN be done

I'll make this quick... there is a constant question about how to get 3 channel ABS to work with a Ford 9" rear axle. You always get a lot of people saying that not only is it not available, but it is impossible. I found out today that it IS available. Not from Moser though. This guy: http://www.hotrodstohell.net/ makes a setup. I don't really know much about them, but after searching for a long time to see how to get 3 channel ABS to work with a 9" I spoke to someone who led me to this company. The guy that I spoke to there (Steve) was really cool, knew a TON about axles and diffs and such... The setup was a little pricey, but I figured that with how often this question is asked, it would be worthwhile to pass the info along.

The 3 channel? You can get 4 channel from Moser, but I've been looking all over and nobody had 3 channel 9" setups. You can see threads like this:

https://ls1tech.com/ubb/cgi-bin/ulti...c;f=2;t=002302

This thread it was claimed that not only is it not available... but it's impossible to do:

https://ls1tech.com/ubb/cgi-bin/ulti...=003510#000000

I could have been wrong... but if it was available... you are the first person I'm hearing it from...

it is possible. people machine ring gears down to shave weight right? well, machine the reluctor ring to fit on the 9 in ring gear, and then take your time to set up the pick up for it. not very easy, but completely possible

How about Currie, they claim you can keep ABS with their stuff.
The 3 and 4 channel stuff is greek to me. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />

3 Channel is for non TCS cars and 4 channel is for TCS cars. The 4 channel has always been available because it mounts on the axle ends, so it's easy to get the axles machined for the reluctor rings (what the sensor reads to see how fast the axle is spinning). The 3 channel has a larger reluctor ring mounted directly behind the ring gear. You can get a 12 bolt with the 3 channel setup, but a lot of people claim that to retain a 3 channel ABS you have to stick with a 12 bolt. Man, I feel like a sh*thead here... I keep seeing the same damn question asked constantly with the same damn answer... I finally find someone that *can* do it, and everyones like "yeah it can be done"... Am I wrong? Has this question not been asked a million times with the answer always being that it is impossible? I actually found a few ways of getting it to work, but this was the first company I found that actually gets the factory reluctor to mount on the ring gear (and it is not just a matter of machining the ring gear or the reluctor BTW).

You know, I guess this is a dead issue. I'm not actually sure of the specifics... I have no relation to this shop at all... never even been there... It's just that I spoke to Steve there and he claims that he did do it... and from other things we spoke of, he knew what he was talking about so I figured I'd pass the info along since I've been looking, unsuccessfully for about a year now trying to find anyone who had actually gotten a 3 channel setup to work on a 9"....
