Eric is doing some great work. I stopped in about a week ago. He's working hard. Had pieced lined up for welding. And aside from the rears he's also got like 5-6 cars at his shop he's working on too. Keep up the great work!

Does this tourqe arm work with true duals that turn down before the axle? And I think I read that it comes with a couple different tourqe arms and the one I like is the one bolted to the body. Thanks.

it looks like to me it will. i have a custom exhaust that's kinda weird. it was welded close to the TA and the driveshaft. the muffler is 6" in diameter and it clears just fine.

I am running a 3 inch x pipe that would be under the tourqe arm thats why im not sure it will work. I know for a fact that the M9 tourqe arm will not work unless I modified my exhaust. Im not sure if this is the same basic design as the M9 tourqe arm though.

Yah the X pipe is under the tourqe arm. It fits now because I have a stock tourqe arm.

i do have a crossmember specifically for the true duals. it uses the same tunnel mounted torque arm and rearend bracketry. includes a torque arm height adjustable pivot link and driveshaft loop like the others.

Do you have a pic of this crossmember?

Also, on your trans-crossmember mounted torque arms, do they come with a driveshaft loop and if not could you add one?

pm me for pics of the duals crossmember. none will be posted.

driveshaft loops for the trans crossmember mounted versions are available, but it depends on what trans you have. otherwise i will have a loop that mounts from the tunnel brace area.

And I'm running my factory T56, can a get a driveshaft loop using that trans?

I'm really trying to avoid mounting anything to the tunnel brace area because of the way my exhaust is and also because of how low my car is. It works perfect right now clearance wise with nothing there and I'd like to keep it that way....

i just weighed a new style housing which i haven't released any pics of yet. it was a full length backbraced housing with all the normal stuff... it was 60.4 pounds. add a set of 31 spline axles... 39 pounds. add a aluminum center section with a truetrac... 52 pounds. add GM brake brackets.. 8 pounds. that all adds up to 159 pounds. i weighed a stock 10 bolt that we removed from an employees car. it was complete with a t/a rear cover and brake mounts, but no calipers or rotors... basically the same as the 9 inch i am describing. it weighed right at 160 pounds.

there ya go. the midwest chassis fabricated 9 inch rearend with a backbrace, complete, is the same weight as the stock 10 bolt when outfitted with an aluminum Strange center section. Smokin95ta had Strange 40 spline ultra-light axles that were under 30 i believe, so the possibilities of going even lighter are well in reach if you use a spool and lightened axles.
