there ya go. the midwest chassis fabricated 9 inch rearend with a backbrace, complete, is the same weight as the stock 10 bolt when outfitted with an aluminum Strange center section. Smokin95ta had Strange 40 spline ultra-light axles that were under 30 i believe, so the possibilities of going even lighter are well in reach if you use a spool and lightened axles.

Thanks for the info.

So, this design is the one I am getting correct? From your description, it sounds like you are describing mine. lol

Oh man thats awesome. Me and my friends install a Dana 60 in some guys car and it took me and another guy to carry this rear end and we walked like 50 ft with it. It is so heavy its not even funny! When we took the 10 bolt my other buddy carried it the same distance all by him self and I was like thinking to my self "thats why I want a fabricated one". Plus he spent like 2500$ on the rear end and then bought a tourqe arm and relocation drive shaft loop for 400$ This is a great deal that you are offering to people.

If you go with the transmission crossmember mounted torque arm, these are pieces that Eric includes with the base package that with other "conventional" designs you'd have to buy separately:
Torque Arm Relocation Crossmember: $255
Chromemoly Adjustable Torque Arm: $470
LCA Relocation Brackets (weld on): $60

So basically, the complete rear end only is about $1800 - shipped. Hell, you can't even find a used 12 bolt for that.

Yah I know thats why I said hes offering a great deal. I told the guy that bought the dana 60 and he's like omg are you serious! He had know idea. Plus it took 4 weeks for them to build his rear end. I wish I could have talked to him before he bought the dana 60.

Yea, but you gotta remember thats also without a center section. So your still gonna be out for that too, which can vary depending on your needs.

He is offering the best deal on a fully fabricated rear without a doubt. I just wanted to make sure everyone was clear you didn't mean a complete rear end including center section.

Yes, it is a COMPLETE rear, including center section. Almost seems too good to be true huh?

I know he isn't selling a complete fab 9" set-up w/center section for $1800 with the cross member, torque arm & brackets.

I have already got a quote on just a housing/axle package w/cross member & torque arm & one for a complete rear with center. And the complete rear was more than what your claiming shipped. But it's still cheaper than buying a complete rear somewhere else & then goin back out to somewhere else for the rest of the suspension pieces. Actually alot cheaper.

But your price your claiming is wrong. You must have misunderstood something.

I'm not misunderstanding anything.

What I was trying to illustrate is with Midwest's base package (which is $2600), you get stuff that would cost around $800 if purchased separately from a rear end setup such as the Strange/Moser 12 bolt, Dana 60, Ford 9", etc.; hence the $1800 figure.

This reply is more understandable. The way it came across I thought you were tryin to say his complete package was only $1800 compared to others on the market.

We are on the same page now.

Cool.....so are you ordering or shopping around some more?

My order is just in:
Base package w/3.89 gears and transmission crossmember mounted torque arm w/polyurethane front mount
3 channel ABS
Truetrack differential
Black powdercoat
Rear filler cap

Nothing too fancy, if you can say that about a fabricated 9" rear with a chromemoly torque arm.

lol, mine is almost exactly the same except I'm getting 3.50s. Still kinda in the air with the 3.50s though, thinking about 3.70s but I drive 99% highway...
