I agree Justin. Spool or Eaton. Not many choices. Think of us poor guys that want a locker, and to retain the 3 channel ABS with a 9"

i dont know the ring gear diameter, but you guys just arent looking hard enough. check this out. they even sell a detroit for the 7.5" 10 bolt but it looks like the 12 bolt is limited to 30 spline axles

thats the primary reason I went with the 9" when I made my rear choice

I have a question from a prospective buyer for you guys. What is the difference between 4 channel and 3 channel ABS? I have ABS but to TCS.

Thanks,
Justin

3 channel ABS is for cars without traction control. Both rear tires are monitored by one rear ABS line.
In cars with traction control, each rear tire is monitored so there are 2 rear ABS channels to monitor wheel speed.

Poor differential selection is also why I selected the 9".

I am now a "12 bolts suck" advocate.

I think the ring diameter on the 12 bolt is around 8.875" or so, I can't find anything that fits.

Not sure about the TCS, but Moser says they don't have it. ABS is an option though, as long as you have 4-channel style.

A car with TCS has a 4-channel ABS setup.

A car without TCS has a 3-channel ABS setup.

You can retain ABS with a 9" if you have TCS on your car, otherwise you lose ABS alltogether.
