Default New Transmission Slipping

Alright...

Got the new transmission in.

Been filling it up with fluid after driving it around. Stop every few miles and throw more fluid in it.

Ive got 10 quarts in now, and the fluid level is reading fine.

1-2 is good.
2-3 slips.
3-4 slips.

3 and 4 will also slip on a locked converter.

It currently is reading full on the dipstick and has 10.5 quarts in it.

Anyone know whats going on???

It's a HPA Stage 2 trans, and a Midwest 3700 Stall.

How many quarts were in the tranny when you started drive it?

bout 11 when I filled it up on the jackstands.

Took for a drive and it the level went WAY up.

Drained a few quarts out last night and brought it up to the current level.

Thats too much fluid I think. When I had my FLP put in they used about 7 quarts total for the whole job.

The high fuild level did not cause the tranny to slip. Have you ever had a high stall torque converter before? 3700 stall is a big stall. Does the converter go 3700? And is that the same RPM the tranny seems to be slipping to ?

uhm... well... It quit slipping.

I had a ST3500... so I know what a converter feels like.

Now I might be having U-Joint issues... or the driveshaft is smacking into the loop... grrrrrr....

It might be the assembly lube. If you haven't driven it enough to heat up the tranny fluid, the lube probably hasn't worked its way out yet.

Just my $.02
