Default Deep Trans Pan?? worth it? help any?

Im looking into getting one just for a peice of mind. I see TR and LS1 speed have the B&M ones. Are the worth the cash?

Im getting ready to change my trans fuild again and would like to put this on while im doing it.

Even with the cooler, this 3600stall still heats up the fuild alot when racing

Related to this, I have got one (not
bolted on yet) that didn't come with a
pickup extension. Seems like that would
be a plus, anyone know where you'd get
something like that (by itself)?

After seeing the price of the after market pans I was going to go with a GM truck pan which I believe is a extra capacity pan and it has a drain plug. But once you buy the pan, gasket, filter (extended), etc., itwas kinda pricy as well. So I just went with a drain plug and installed it in my stock pan. No extra capacity but it makes it alot easier to change the fluid (which I`ll be doing alot of with this TCI 4400) and it was only $8.

thats why i like the drain plug. I change mine between spring and fall usually. But I would still like to change the filter still about every other year.

the extra 3 quarts should help alot though

the tci pan does not need an extension for the filter, they do cool down tranny temps a little and have a drain plug.

Extra capacity does help.

I have a dearle. The price is good and it adds capacity and some extra cooling capacity. Ground clearance is good

TCI has cooling fins that I like and adds 2 qts. Had the price been the same, I would have gotten the TCI.

I have B&M deep pan

It DOES Work and it DOES help, noticeably!

I can hot lap my car on a freeway all day long and temps stays low; it also helps alot in San Francisco (if you have been here you know how huge the hills are in here and how hard they can be on the tranny)

The only drawback is that my car is lowered and i scrape it from time to time over the bumps or other crap damn it

I have the GM deep truck pan with drain plug. I got it along with my built trans. I didn't put enough miles on the trans last year to need to change the filter but I would like to this year. So I'm wondering, what filter are you guys with GM truck pans using? I think I remember someone telling me to order a filter for a 2000 Suburban 6.0L?? Does that sound right?

PS. Deep pan seemed to keep my crusing trans temps down by 15-20 degrees.

I just ordered a TCI trans pan. Do I need a different filter, or would one come with it?

I'm just thinking that if I set the filter
as much deeper as I get from the pan, that
would totally eliminate the "low tranny
fluid squirreliness" that these 4L60Es
seem to be known for... at least, until
the oil was a whole lot lower. That's
why I want a lower pickup tube even if I
don't "need" it.

No dipstick problems. Think about it. Pan extends lower. Still has to be "full" for stick to read "full". Best wishes. WJ.

Does the truck filter sit down lower
or is it just bigger / better?
