The spool is not bad at all.
I just did not want to be in the situation where I spent $500
on a true track to have it break. I'd be so pissed.

I have no worries with my spool, and it's not bad to drive.

We all buy these $3K rears so they DONT break. I mean hell if you dont take your car to the track but 5 times a year you'd probably be ok with a posi, but if you are like me you are there almost every weekend and beat your car to death on the street from time to time.

Ya thats another huge factor that comes into play, I barely see the track is where its really hard on it. Any other time you are either coasting or roasting

Update: I am definately killing my MT Drag Radials. To the point that I will probably run cheap street tires on the street, and have a strip only set for the races.........Or maybe its just the 4.30s killing them...

yeah im sure its a combo of the two, but a spool will definatly eat a soft compound tire off if you twist it around sharp turns alot. would definatly not run DR's and a spool on the street full time unless you have lots of money for tires, it wont effect a street compound near as much, and there hella cheaper

Well I guess that answers it for me, I'll take the chance on the truetrac b/c I will be running M/T 315 at all times. It would be a joke with anything less on the street and wouldn't be able to use the power at all. Either way the tires I know won't last for a long time but if it chews them up that much more to me its better chancing the truetrac and not having the downfalls of the spool. My car is mostly street and could see justifying a spool allot more for something that barely sees the street and obviously more so the track regardless of the power level.
