Default Synthetic oil note

Eaton will void warranty if synthetic oil is used with their products! This will cover their Truetrac, Eaton limited slip, and Detroit Lockers.
Just found this out the other day and wanted to pass this on to everyone.

I'm using synthetic in my locker. 35 spline 9"and heavy weight Valvoline synthetic. Will post if it blows up. Quieter than it was with lighter weight dino oil.

Most synthetics don't climb gears as well as dyno does. So, the manufacturer evidently uses this in their favor. Use Schaeffers #267 80W-90. It has the high temperature protection of a 140 + loads of moly.

You probably wont think much that I bought a pressure plate from one company, mated it with another manufacturers puck disk, and used yet another manufacturers steel flywheel. I did balance it though. Guess I'm not a total tard.

When you buy a eaton lsd it comes with a lil blue card that states...

Warranty void if sythetics are used..

That lil card has been with the diffs from day one!!

When I was a eaton distrib, I called and asked why and also did they know the tbss with the eaton lsd use synthetics.....

There answer was simple on the dyno when the synthetic oil heats up it thins out....Which between there clutch packs tends to make them chatter and pop!!

In fact most clutch type diffs manufactors would recommend you use dino oil over synthetics...
