They are not the same. The one for a 1966 pickup is most likely too wide. By the time you invest in brackets, cutting to length, housing ends, and new axles it would be cheaper to by one specific to an F body.

yup agreed because i tried it. plus the sponsors on here really do try to fix problem if they occur.

to let yo know some tubes but to the housing while others actually go in the housing which is better.

If you are dead set in going this route. I know the old Ford Bronco (66-75) Have a pretty Narrow 9" rearend. I used one to put in My 64 nova and it was the same length (All I did was swap the pearchs). That was a realitively easy swap but for the new Gen F-body, You will wish you just bought one. Just my .02

He converts 9" rears to fit f-bodies?
You mean he's a welder. In the end you'll wish you got one already made.
You can't beat $1000 for a housing and axle kit. If you want inexpensive get the center section out of the 9" you're looking at and put it in a axle and housing kit sold by one of the sponsors here.

Finding the TA bracket is going to be difficult. Moser does not sell it as a seperate part. That could cost quite a bit.

I can sell you the housing and axle package for 1050.00 shipped to your door.

100% correct!
$1,000.00 shipped to your door is my price, and it will seem like a steal once you get through all the hassles of trying to make something fit. What is your buddy planning to do for the torque arm? Bob

Im still puzzled why people want to take 40 year old junk and put it in new cars when new cheaper alternatives are so easy to come buy...
