Cap supports are simply bolts that thread thru cover and are set to hold tension against main caps to prevent caps from "rocking" or "flexing". There's also "jam", or locking nuts on outside of cover to lock bolts in place after setting them against bearing caps. T/A cover is real nice piece. I picked up a T/A cover a little while ago - seems like a nice quality piece.

Make sure you use a little silicone around the jam nuts & support bolts, or the T/A cover will seep a little lube thru thread area.....black works great. WJ. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" />

I must be over thinking this...

The nuts to hold the caps on?
The nuts/bolts on the outside?

Please explain what I have to do to install the cap correctly.
Do I need torques? Need to line things up?

Sorry just have never been there before and would hate to get it apart and mess it up.

What will go wrong if I don't do it correctly?

The bolts are threaded in the cast cover. You tighten the bolts with an allen, then you turn the nut to lock the allen bolts. Comes with instructions and what you should torque it to. You need a torque wrench.

IMO I think the Moser cover is better:
<img src="http://www.moserengineering.com/catalog/category_images/ALL%20COVERS.jpg" alt=" - " />
It doesn't have the bolts sticking out that could hit on the pan hard bar. If you look close, they are recessed. Thinking about ordering one for my 12 bolt and selling the one I have.

What makes the Moser better than the TA?

I haven't looked but do the stock covers have these ajustments?

I still don't understand the concept of these ajustment bolts/nuts!!!!!

Do i have to do something special when I take off the stock cover?

My TA cover doesn't have this so it hits the panhard bar. I have the stock panhard bar now so I just notched the bar with a grinder. I didn't want to grind the bolts since I was thinking about selling it for the Moser cover.

The stock covers are just stamped steel and don't have these adjustments. The purpose of the TA/Moser covers is to add some strength to the stock 10 bolt ot 12 bolt.

There's nothing special you will have to do when you take the stocker off.

Check out this article on the TA cover:

http://www.moserengineering.com/mose...s.asp?CatID=13

But you can find them at most places. Look on ebay, summitracing.com, and jegs.

EDIT:
After looking closer at Mosers site, it appears they don't make one for the 7.5" 10 bolt so I guess your only option is the TA cover.
