Default Car jerks?

Im having a issue ever since I installed my 9 inch. Whenever im driving, and speed makes no difference really, if I stab teh throttle the car does kind of a S. It will jerk my rear end of the car to the left and then straighten back out. Doesnt seem to do it under WOT more just while highway driving. Any gear also. Any ideas?

Sounds like you have a Locker and your rear is not lined up perfectly in the chassis.

So its the locker then? Im ok with it if thats what it is. I have just been checking, and rechecking anything I could have messed up on the install. What could I do to try and realign it? Loosen everything and set it on the ground?

If you have adjustable LCAs you can tweak the rear so it sits square in the chassis if it is in fact off a bit.

Even if the rear is perfectly centered, it's still going to jerk like that......that's just the nature of lockers. I've got a detroit locker in my 9" and a richmond locker in my '85 swb. Both are manual trans and both do the little sideways jump when shifting under part throttle but go perfectly straight at WOT. The faster you shift the less "side jumping" you get. Locker + manual trans on the street is not for the faint of heart, they get kinda hairy at times......but I love it

Maybe the 31 spline Locker is a bit lighter because mine does that very rarely.

Some people say that real good shocks and a good rear swaybar can greatly reduce the problem......

Ya Ive noticed that too. When Im at WOT it goes perfectly straight, but under normal drivingis when it does it most. Thats all I really needed to verify was that it was the locker doing this to me. Appreciate the help from everyone
