Default Weird noise.....

I just developed a new noise from the rear when I turn. I doubt it's the diff since it's less than a year old and hasn't been driven hard since the build. It's kindof like a brake grinding. Any ideas?

Might be an axle bearing going bad?

I justr replaced my brakes with Ceramic and they make a similar noise when cornering hard at slow speeds. The AZ guy said it may be crystallization due to new pads.

Crystalization huh? I do have new pads up front, but they aren't ceramic. Would new pads up front be causing the rear ones to make noise trying to compensate for it?

Doesnt sound like it. now mine is doing it when I go around corners at slow speeds. I read another post where a guy has the same problem and his axle actually moves between .25 and .5 inch, causing rotors to rub on pads. They said it is the carrier bearing on his. Can ALSO be shims not alligned properly. I dont put too much stock in the brake theory; mine is still doing it, and I had ceramic in my 98, and it never did this.

my car makes this horrible noise when turning at low speeds like driving through a parking lot. it sounds like something is rubbing and grinding. It only does it when turning at low speeds. Could it be my rotors possibly grinding and making this noise. The dealership has fixed my pinion seal 4 times and it doesn't leak anymore but makes this horrible noise. Also i read that you must be GM limited slip additive. Could this be a possibility???

Thanks

Would any aftermarket rear ends cause this noise, or is it just a 10 bolt thing?

If the axles are shifting, would that eventually cause breakage in the 10 bolt?

Update: It was actually the brake crystalization after all. I put about 150 miles on the new pads and all is quiet in the rear area now. I had a sticky caliper that was glazing out the driver side rear one.
