Default Drill mod or NOT?

I just want to know will it work on the factroy master cyl.
I am getting my stage3 installed wed and would like to know if I can tell the guy to do the drill mod. I dont have the Mcleod so can I drill my factory?

Thanks,

DO the drill mod. The Mcleod master doesn't need to be drilled, but the stock master definitely needs it.

The drill mod is actually done to the hydraulic line, not on the master itself, so it can be done to the stock setup.

IMO, If you already have to bleed the hydraulic system, definately do it. I didn't have to disconnect any of my stuff, and I did NOT want to bleed the system so I chose not to do the drill mod on my car. My SPEC Stage 3 carbon clutch seems to be holding just fine with 5000+rpm launches and hard shifting.

Total time drilling out the stock line and bleeding the system takes about an hour. It's extremely easy, and IMO is a must-do mod for aftermarket clutches. It's even in the instructions that come with the Spec clutches.

Also, the drill mod does not affect holding power. It allows the pressure plate to disengage faster at high rpm.

Since you’re replacing the master cylinder any way, then I would go ahead and do the drill out mod. Just be careful not to drill through the hydraulic hose. I had to drill through a lot further then I imaged. I would just take your time and step up through the different drill bit sizes. My clutch system feels a lot better this time then my pervious system when I didn't upgrade to the new 01+ master nor did the drill out mod.

do you mean LT1 cars? if so then the answer is no. 93-97 cars have a little different setup.

is there anything like the drill mod to do to an LT1 car?

I notice even w/ my aftermarket shifter sometimes it doesnt want to go into 3rd on hard high rpm shifts..
