pull the "10" bolts o nthe cover. and pop it off. The gasket might stick alittle but just sue a screwdriver and pry it off. Get a new gasket and 2 quarts of gear oil.

Most eveyrplace has Mobil 1 gear oil, so thats a good call. Any brand name would be fine. But I'd lean towards a synthetic. GM calls forl ike 75W-90 weight, but when I changed my gears I went with a 75W-140 MB1. It's extra thick when hott to help reduce stress on my weak 10 bolt. So I'd consider that also. It cost alittle more but I feel it'll help

O ya it should hold about 1.5-1.75 quarts. Keep it about 1/2" from the bottom of the fill hole, which is on the pass side.

Don't forget to add a bottle of GM limited slip additive, regardless of which gear oil you use.

How do you know when it's time to change the rear end differential fluid? Or do you have to change it after so many miles?

Yes, remove the cover and let it drain. I'd just use some silicone instead of buying a gasket when you put it back on.

Fill it up til it comes out the fill hole which is on the pass side. Takes prolly 1 and 2/3 quarts.

Don't waste your money on the **** *** 10 bolt with synthetic. Reg old 80/90 will be fine. And if you have a zexel torsen posi, you don't need the additive.

Helpful hint when removing the cover don't take all of the cover bolts out...leave a couple of the upper ones in so the cover doesn't fall off and all the fluid splashes out at you. By doing this you allow the majority of the fluid to ooze out(more controlled).

Once a year or every 10,000 miles is what we recommend. More frequent oil changes leads to longer lasting differentials.

Yes, 2 quarts plus an additive. You have to pay to play.
