16mm 1.5 die - where do I get one?

Trying to shorten a shifter handle, can't find a a 16mm 1.5 die anywhere, anyone find a source? I don't want to by a $90 set for one die.

Some of the old-timey hardware stores do a
good job of stocking individual tap and die
sizes. I've never had a call to collect metric
ones myself, and if it were me, I'd probably
go get the next bigger size Amurrican tap and
matching die, and rethread the shifter hole
and handle to a standard that wasn't thunk up

Another option might be to figure out how to get
the lever out of the handle, and cut from the top
instead of the bottom. Might be a blind screw
hidden up inside the pole, or sump'n easy like that.
