Default Car is walking side to side...

I just replaced the rear end in a friends 2001 Camaro. Now when he drives it at normal speed it drives straight. But when he gets on the expressway running 70+ it wants to walk side to side with him. What do I need to look at. Everything under neath is stock, so nothing has been changed..

Thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you changed the rear end, then not everything underneath is stock. You need to be more specific with what you've changed, what gears, trutrac, locker, spool, new driveshaft, etc., etc. when you did the 9"/12 bolt/ford 8.8"/dana 60 rear end change over.

if its is walking side to side then the rear end is not centered, ie you need to adjust the panhard, if the panhard is stock then something is loose.

Hopefully the first thing he checked was that the rear tire's pressure is correct. Inadequate and uneven tire pressure can cause a car to wobble at speeds upward's of 65mph.

Does anyone have a picture of underneath their car? He says that a bar is missing that we didn't take off. there are four bolt hoes on the drivers side that at one time had something mounted there.

Default side to side

Before the rear end was installed it was fine.Put the rear end back now it feels like its fish tailing at 70mph plus. I have checked all bolts and the sway bar. So i guess i will find a upper panhard bar to see if it fixes it .Im not sure what else it can be.Do you think the lower panhard bar would be enough to keep it from swaying. Why do you think it would be noticed now??? THANKS FOR ALL YOUR HELP!!!!!

There's two "channeled" bars that go from side to side to keep the rear-end from moving, the upper is missing. M.I.A. http://photos-g.ak.facebook.com/phot...976054_744.jpg

Was it there before the install? That missing will cause problems.

Highly doubt the upper PHR is the problem, many people don't have them on the car. Sounds like something is loose or the rear end is not square in the car.
