^^ true true...well ive tried breaking mine for awhile, well not tried, but i sure as hell havent taken it easy, through unknown amounts of doughtnuts, burnouts, and track runs, that little thing just wont break,so i still have it in my car..she makes some nasty noises, but it is still going strong, but i do know it wont be long!!
by the way like everyone says watch the tranny, those doughtnuts will take it out, thats what got me!!let us know when your rip it apart!!

screw that im rocking a ten bolt, anything will last if you build it right i would much rather spend 500 to build a 10 bolt then spend 2200 on a 12 bolt or 9 in and then have that break

thats what i thought too....but i soon learned how wrong i was. i went through one stock 10bolt and 2 fully built 10bolts. i had the moser preload diff cover, Strange gears, exc. it still broke 3 times on street tires. i want to kick myself in the *** every time i think about how much money i wasted on 10bolts!...enough to buy a 9". i finally saved up the cash and got my 9" and thats one more thing i dont have to worry about. my advice to everyone with a 10bolt is to keep it as long as it will last, but if it does break dont spend a dime on trying to strengthen it. buy a 9" if you can afford it. if not, only replace what parts you have to until you can afford it.

why would burnouts ruin your rear?? I always thought that when revving hard in neutral or with the clutch in and then all of a sudden dumping the clutch or popping it in gear that that would mess up the rear end cause of the sudden burst in power.
But when your already in gear and the clutch pedal isnt pressed then your just simply giving it gas and jus spinning the rear tires due to not enough grip. Your not all of a sudden emmiting a burst of power to the rear or anything like that like on a hard launch. So after the launch/clutch dump, wouldnt the stress on the rear end be over?

burnouts are hard on a rearend especially if you get any wheel hop. wheel hop is VERY hard on rearends.

You really wanna break it ? Get out on a nice asphalt road with alot of grip. Back up and while still rolling backwards throw it in first and drop the clutch at about 5 grand. Thats sure to cause some mayhem. Whether its a u-joint, drive shaft, input shaft, or rearend, who knows. It would be fun to watch though. I once saw a video similar to that on youtube with some guys trying to blow the motor in a little honda somethingoranother, and they tried everything. Drained oil and put bleach in there. Then some sand. Then some water. Then drained the radiator. And during all this they were doing 7k clutch dumps and bouncing off the rev limiter. It was amazing, because in the end it was still running I think it popped a head gasket.

i wish my parents would buy me a new rear. but say i buy a replacement rear incase mine goes how many 5k rpm clutch dump launches u think my 10 bolt wit 159k miles will withstand?

can someone please explain wheel hop? I mean its when the the rears are sorta sliding but they are also sort of gripping, its right in the middle and then u get the back end going up and down really fast cause of the quickly going back and forth between spinning and gripping, is that right??

I think you should go ahead and get the 9 but keep the 10 bolt for a rainy day, or sell it to recoup some of the money. Hell I would have bought it if you didn't beat it to hell. I do have one question though, how old are you???

I'd think a 5k clutch dump with the front wheels cranked all the way to the right or left would do it. A 5k clutch dump in reverse should really hurt it as well.
Although I think the best way to kill it is with sticky tires at the track. At least that way you'll learn how to launch it and have some sweet times before it breaks.

Update: Cleaned my car and decided to spray off the rear end, brakes, and whatever... now about 70% of the rear noise is gone after about 500 miles. I think I got the indestructible one. Maybe I'll keep it.
