The current 4.6L motor is already an aluminum block. The DOHC 5.0L motor will be heavier than the current 4.6L SOHC, and the TR6060 is heavier than the current TR35 whatever it is. I would guess +50 lbs for engine and transmission alone.

This site and a few others say the mustang weighs over 200lbs more than the BMW M3 which weighs 3700lbs.

According to Edmunds, the M3 is about 3590 lbs, that would put the mustang up to about 3800 lbs. Sounds like they will certainly need the extra power to go with the weight. If that article mentioning the 200 lbs more than an M3 is accurate, the only real advantage the mustang had will nearly disappear.

Everywhere I've looked it shows 3706lbs for the M3's weight. An Edmunds shows 3704lbs.

Well, someone pointed out to me that BMW lists curb weight with an average driver included, so if you look at the link below you will see Edmunds lists manufacturer curb weight and then the as measured curb weight. I don't know why they do that.

I would like to see a new front end, wheels, colors, and a track pack.
I think it would be cool if GM decided to change the front stylings every year like the '67, '68, and '69 Camaro.

They should offer a V8 with the interior options and weight like a base model V6. Basically a stripper model that would come in under the price of a 1ss. Right now the gen 5 is kinda tough on guys like me that want one but can't afford the almost 500 payment that comes with it.
