I think you'd meant to write "can't" instead of can?

And I hear ya on that, nothing wrong with wanting to retain all of the various luxuries that a brand new $31k+ car comes with. One can always just keep adding power if they want to go faster or even just do a few bolt ons and be content running low 12s/high 11s, no crime in that.

i cant grasp people wanting to ditch weight in a new camaro. new camaro and lightweight jsut dont mix. you'd destroy it by taking all those creature comforts out.

I'm all for adding HP but my goal is to get the car down around 3650, shouldn't be hard if exhaust swaps net 75lbs.

Its probably a bad word around these parts, but camaro5 has information on CF parts (notably a nice hood or two) in various places.

I am doing minimum weight reduction, Hood, exhaust, convertor, bumper supports, Rims tires, brakes and removing IRS and putting in a 9 inch as soon as the kit is out.

But I am also adding weight- Cage and F1C Procharger.

Swap out the brembos for v6 brakes. If you're building a drag car there is no need for the brembos.

I took some of the plastic out behind the front bumper cover...probably weighed a pound or two max.

The front bumper support was a solid 15lbs. Didnt check the rear yet.

My goal is 11.9 stalled/tuned/ bolt-ons. I think I have a real good shot as soon as my new CAI and front wheels come it. I hit 12.38@111 in 85 deg heat with a 1/2 tank of gas. Id guess with a 1/8th tank some cooler weather and I could be there.

Notice there's no hood in that pile! The hood is aluminum so leave it alone.

If your truly worried about wieght, there is a car called the Aerio Atom. It's pretty much what your talking about doing to the Camaro, and last time I checked it was even cheeper. No radio, AC, extra seats or any of that crap you don't need. Maybe it's just me, but looks like you bought the wrong car bro, if SPEED is truly what your worried about. Cause I know looks aren't. After you take out all of that your car will be trashed.

I disagree. Weight reduction has always been a topic when it comes to portly pony cars. Most people won't do extreme things like take out the AC, but I think its good to know headers, exhaust, and wheels and how much weight you'd save by doing those things.
