the 2011 GT 500 weighs 120lbs less than and has 10more hp [550 hp] the 2010 GT 500
The Z28 better come with its guns loaded. The 2010 GT 500 has run 11.38 bonestock except for slicks and 11.6X with DR;s.
Do you really think Chevy will give the Z28 more hp than the Z06?

more like lower-mid 12's. like a cts-v.
if the new z\28 comes out with the lsa it will be a very good race end of story.

No The 2010 with DR's do though and the 2011 are supposed to be faster. The 2007-2009 were slower. The 2010 got better tires ,clutch, tranny gears, 3.55 rear end and 40 more hp. The 2011 loses weight off the nose [handling/power transfer] and wheels [rotational mass] gets 10more hp and a 3.73 gear option and improved handling. Do you honestly think GM will give the z28 more hp than the Z06?

Rumor is the LSA will make more power in the Z28 than CTS-V due to intake and exhaust routing and more aggressive tuning. The Caddy guys don't want a rough idle and loud car. The number I have heard is 565.

Thr Caddy doesn't sit next to the Vett at the Chevy Dealership. Totally different customer that why they don't like the rough idle as mentioned before. Personalty I don't see GM putting the CTSV in it. But we shall see.

Its a marketing point not performance thing. Like Ford putting a different power levels in the 5.4 for the Shelby than they did for the Ford GT. It will be interesting to see what happens. Rumor has it that the Shelby gets twin turbos for 2012.

they will put an lsa in it though.
the z\28 wont be competing with the z06. guys that want a vette will buy a vette. i know extreme ford fanbois are very butthurt over the idea of a f\i camaro, but it is going to happen.

i think it's physically impossible to fit a cts-v inside a camaro.

LOL I welcome the competition Let the pony wars begin. I raced a blacked out 2010 SC Camaro last week that claimed 550 to the ground. I wasn't overly impressed by his performance.

Ahahaha, well as big and heavy as the Camaro is the CTS-V might just fit LOL
Bolt ons and a 4L80E best so far 10.82 at 127
The LSA will be much more receptive to performance upgrades than the GT500. Easier to change cam/cams, heads, pulley upgrades

LSA will make its way into the Camaro to compete the GT500. Either you like it or not. And its not as dumb engine, its a solid performer. Research the dyno section a bit.
It will be affordable because it has the chevy sign up front, and not the caddy crown. 2 different market.
And since when a factory 556hp engine is wimpy? What do you drive?

Given the success of Ford's Shelby ponycars, and the press surrounding the upcoming Z28...I think it's easy to see that GM WILL put the LSA into the new Z, in whatever hp trim/tune they decide will sell the most cars.
I am not sure why anyone (Chevy or Ford fanboys) would care to argue? Ford has had an FI Stang since '03, why wouldn't Chevy go the same route to achieve similar performance?

The Bull
Well I upgraded my turbo's and we have some new #'s
1200 rwhp
1100 rwtq
We are figuring that's between 1400-1500 crank HP.
Now keep in mind so you fully understand the capability of the stock form compound boost kit Hellion sells.
The car drives like stock....All accessories are still on the car and it's still a 6-speed.
My car has a stock motor with exception of stronger internals and stronger valves springs. Stock heads (unported), stock cams, lower than stock compression, 2.5in factory exhaust, dynomax mufflers.
The entire Hellion kit is unaltered. All piping is as is comes in the kit.
I am taking the car to Bradenton. I don't have cage in yet so I may not get a full pass. But we have a local track rental on 3/21 so I can test all day and hopefully get my 8 second pass w the 6-speed.
