i don't doubt a 5th gen could get into the 11's with bolt ons. i don't know of any but i'm sure an LS1 4th gen could too. damn that 10 bolt though! how strong is the IRS in the '10?

I have tried to go to Milan test and tune twice this year but got screwed by the weather twice. I dont see why I shouldn't be able to get low 12's considering I have a decent tire and some suspension mods. Just going to need about a 1.8-1.9 60ft. 11's are very do-able with a 17-18 inch rim and aggressive DR.
To the original topic. I am sure a very stout H/C build would pull me for sure. I still am rather positive my 98 would beat my current car...but then again SOTP isnt always accurate. Compared to my friends car my 98 had about 200lbs less weight, a higher compression ratio and 25ftlbs of torque across the board.
Have you got the ADM scoop and washer bottle relocation? I just put that on and the install was smooth and everything fit great. Supposed to be good for a dyno proven ~5rwhp. Every little bit helps....

Was the ls1 guy experienced? I find the outcome to be surprising. Most of the bolt on 10SS guys around here are running in the 12.3-12.5 range. The average H/C LS1 should be low-mid 11's. Good kill though. SS's are faster than I thought apparently.

Both are quick cars though, there's no doubt about that

My friend went 11.9 in his '10 SS down here in Houston on a not insanely low DA day (it was in the very low 70s)
Full intake/exhaust/tune car with a ported throttle body. Stock gears and stock intake manifold.

MI Z28... I think most of these guys talking crap have NO idea what there talking about! These cars are awesome, I loved my 4th gen's but once you drive a M6 SS that's gonna be all you think about But ya, they have some wieght and they are not as forgiving to bad driver's as a lighter 4th gen is.

I played cat and mouse with a 5th gen today. IOM with white rally stripes and IO interior, gorgeous car! Had I not bought my 4th gen, this is the car I would have saved for. It was an auto, but moved extremely well. Could not get a race in because it was a two lane highway with heavy traffic going the other way. I would give him the hit and he would pull away from me from 10-40mph then I would begin to slowly reel him in from 40-80mph. This surprised me a bit, I thought he would have the advantage up top. Mods are in my signature, I'm positive the 5th gen was stock because it sure sounded quiet. If I didn't need a truck I would be buying a new SS to give my 4th gen some company in the garage.
Question: were any autos equipped with the LS3 or does the LS3 come with the manual only?
