5th Gen. Free Mods

5th Gen. Free Mods
My buddy just got a 2010 SS and I was trying to help him out with some cheap beginner mods. He is ordering a Vararam this week and probably going to delete the cats and have his other friend who owns a shop give him a little tune. I'm pretty new to the 5th gens so I was looking for some good write-ups on free mods, like maybe an EGR delete. Can anyone share some tips or point me to some good threads concerning this so that I can help him out?
Also, when ordering the Vararam CAI, should he go ahead and get the "tune" version now since he is going to have the guy tune it for him anyway? I was reading up on it and became a little confused with the difference between the 2.

These cars dont have air or egr. You can remove the EVAP system, but it only saves a few pounds and throws a cel. The charcoal canister above the fuel tank is worth 20 pounds. You can remove the air pump/fix a flat **** in the trunk for about 15 more.

Wow, so your saying they actually tuned some of the new 5th gens to be able to run on 87 octane, LOL! Probably to help save the new market of young guys buying these cars, that don't know ****, form themselves. What fuses would need to be swapped and from what amp to what?

Here are the recommended steps for the fuse pull procedure:
1. Make sure the engine and ignition are turned off
2. Locate Fuse Panel in front of the passenger's side front strut tower and pull the cover
3. Remove #5 and #20 (15A fuses) (photo of location below)
4. Let the car sit for at least several hours (overnight is preferable)
5. Install #5 and #20 (15A) fuses
6. Install Fuse Panel cover
7. Restart vehicle and enjoy
Note: Do not unplug the battery. It has no effect.
