I bought a VMAX and to be honest I wouldn't do it again. The VMAX is ported fine but not polished. I have always ported and polished heads and intakes, if I'm wrong someone say something.

Polishing an air passage to a mirror shine such as a throttle body or intake runner actually causes the air to "stick" to the passage instead of flow freely through it. The best porters often leave rougher surfaces to create turbulence In the passage to speed up air movement. So what vmax told you wasn't bs at all.

In a fuel injected engine, polish away as far as I have heard.
