Looking to get a set of longtubes, how long does the install take if i do it by myself?? do i have to pull the steering rack with these headers? anything i should watch out for while do it?

They go in smooth, no problems at all, a bit of moving around on the steering side, i would have heat wrapped those things before install they already burned all the spark plug cables and it isnt fun trying to cover the headers after installed with heat wrap. Watch out for bumpers after installing them since they go lower like one inch from the chassis and they will be the very first thing hitting them.

Definitely put heat protective boots on the spark plug wires when installing headers. DEI makes them as well as some shops.
Header wrap and coatings is always up for debate.

Header install on 5th gens is fairly easy, can be done in about 4 hours taking your time. A helper is handy when putting headers in and starting header bolts. Stock wires have heat shield on plug wire boot, should be fine. If you like the way your car runs now, you will love it with headers. You do know you will need to tune the car now? You will most likely trip a CEL if not, and not be getting the full power available without it.

One thing I would suggest is throwing a pair of gloves on and removing the O2 sensors while it's still hot. I had one that was a real bitch and it tore the threads off. I have seen several other post up on Camaro5 with the same issues.

Kooks headers are great. I have the 1 7/8 on my Camaro along with the Kooks 3" exhaust, no cats. Sounds great and easy to install. Be sure to use the factory exhaust gaskets.

I'm still debating which header I want. I may go with SP full exhaust kit which is a lot cheaper then Kooks. Kooks is a quality part though, but then again so is Stainless works.

I bought my entire Kooks system from a Bob@BruteSpeed and he gave me a smokin deal. If you decide on Kooks, give him a shout.
