Default 2013 zl1 price...

I was passing by the chevy dealer the other day and saw an triple black ZL1 in the back of the lot, i believe it was fully loaded cause it had a sunroof, that sales man wanted to sell me this car so bad he was yapping like a twelve year old, in conclusion the final estimate was $63.789 Dollars out the door, do you guys think that is a fair price for this caliber of a camaro...or should i just wait for the new 1LE?

I would check around and get some other prices from other dealerships.

EDMUNDS.COM is your friend. You can price the car out and see exactly what the dealear paid for it and what they are going for in your area.

According to Edmunds.com the dealear paid $55,168 and the MSRP is $57,450. The way I figgure it for FL any way MSRP+TT&L ought to be $61,659. He is trying to sell you about $1400 over MSRP at that price depending on the actual equipment on the car.

Or just wait for the next Camaro that won't be as heavy and cumbersome as the current one.

for that price might as well buy a 2013 shelby and have the faster of the two cars. (the 13 shelby is faster than the zl1 its been proven dont no one cry about it)

Lol. Fords are just fine. Just like GM cars. No reason to be a fanboy of one.

Lol right? I never said all fords are better than all GM. There's a reason I'm still here lol. For the record I've never had a problem with any ford I've owned whereas my ss broke every other month. To say that one company's cars break all the time is hypocritical. If you mod your car its going to break at one point.

Yep I will give kudos to Ford. That's a nice car and its hard to find fault with it. Chevy went with the LSA in the Camaro rather than the LS9 because its hard to sell a Corvette for $100k+ when there is a Camaro with the same HP for around $58K.

They could have just done what they did with the C5 and F-bodies. Rate the Corvette higher even though they make the same power

Only faster in a straight line. In the twistys the zl owns it. It would be harder to make the gt500 handle with the zl than it would be to get that extra 100hp out of the zl.

Yes I'm aware of that. There was a huge debate in racers lounge about it lol. It comes down to what you would prefer to do. Sat night drag/street racing or going to an auto x course. If you drag race hands down gt500. If you auto x mainly then get a zl1. It got dumb because ppl were arguing they'd rather have the handling and suspension of the zl1 for DD driving when they didn't realize its not like the gt500 handling and suspension are complete **** lol. For a DD I think it'd be fine. Bottom line both are nice it depends on what you want out of it.

it would prob be hard to find a new gt500 for that price on ebay they average 7 to 10k more.

You can read this article and watch the accompanying video. The GT500 beat the ZL1 around Laguna Seca. I think that defeats your argument.

I have read it....and apparently you have comprehension problems.

Quoted: "Feels so much more stable than the Ford," notes Mortara. "Just wish it had the Shelby's power. Amazingly flat turn-in. They did wonders to make this car do what it does.

Just because the shelby did a quicker lap time does not make it a better handler. Look at the info, the shelby makes up time on the straights and the camaro catches it in the turns.....that's handling bud. Take a look at figure 8 times where power is not a issue like it is on that long uphill at L.S. The camaro beats by .4

Quoted : Personally, on our canyon run, I didn't like how much the rear of the car moved around. Chassis flex? Because after all, there's a $22,000 rental car under all that blistered snakeskin. Maybe. Or maybe it's the way the live-axle moves around.

I have said this before and you guys tried to castrate me.

Remember a great handling car has more than 1 fast lap in it. I would like them to do 5 laps, then take the middle 3. That would be far more accurate.

Thanks for posting a article where the ZL finished 6th and the GT500 finished 7th....you did a great job proving your point.
