Default Ported and polished throttle body.

Has any body done any dyno research into what a PP throttle body is worth HP/TQ wise on the LS3/L99? Just wondering if it is good for anything at all of if its just mental masturbation over something that looks pretty.

Actually I was quite surprised to see 8rwhp/10+ rwtq from the VMax CNC spiral ported throttle bodies. I had used them before, and of course throttle response was better, but never knew the potential of this modification. Like I tell people it will not light the world on fire like getting a supercharger, but for the money it's definitely one of the more cost effective modifications and simple to bolt-on yourself.

Both cars are manual, CAI airboxes. Back to back pulls, stock vs. VMax.

I have the Vmax T/B. I don't have specific hp/tq gains but I can tell a difference in throttle response and feel it's worth doing.

Two questions:

1 ) Who carries them?

2 ) has anyone used one in conjunction with a TB spacer?

There are a lot of vendors that sell them. It is on a exchange basis. I have a Hamburgers T/B Spacer with mine.

Typically a spacer is used when trying to fine tune for those last couple of HP(5-10).It's doubtful that you could feel the little bit of power you would pick up with one.

Did you have to trim the tube for your cold air to make it fit with the spacer MGW3?
