I heard from a reliable source the car will be built on the Trailblazer platform, and will weigh in at over 4500lbs....but it will have a 5000lb towing capacity.

OK, seriously I love the way the car looks. Let's look at some cars in recent memory that haul *** with a lot of mass:

03-04 Cobra 3650+lbs...high 12's stock
06-07 GT500 3900+lbs...mid 12's stock
05-07 SRT8's 4100+lbs...low 13's stock
05-06 GTO 3650+lbs...low 13's stock

I think the car looks badass, There pictures floating around of 4th gens sitting next to the concept car, the concept is smaller I could when I saw both them in person. I cant wait till its out..personally im tired of seeing 500+ mustangs a day. I cant see how anyone wants a mustang now because there just sooo dam many there like the civic of american cars. Everyone and there grandma has one.

I voted 9. The car is superb looking and I'm sure(I hope) GM is not stupid to bring back a heavier, slowerand ugly Camaro. Just dont bring it back if its for nothing except if the car will beat the Mustang on every aspect of it, and not only performance.
We know the last gen didnt survive even if they were faster than the Mustang. Most plp will buy for look at a decent price and hardcore will buy the sportiest and badest looking for the best price if possible.

But we have to face it, I think the mass will buy V6 base model/convertible and thats where the companies make their money. They want to sell a lot, so their base model must be a good value and the top models(ss/z28/cobra/whatever) must be faster than other top of the line models.

When I tell the average plp who's not into cars that I own a Camaro SS, they simply laugh at me!!! but when they see my car on the street, they dont even know what it is and they like it!!!...this is the mass GM has to conquer back..it will be hard!!! and of course they think their stock civic with fart can is faster than any mustang or camaro. It's ignorance and stereotype that prevails too often. I'm not trying to bash import here by the way because I know all their models are top rated for quality and value.
Another exemple of the mass stereotype or ignorance: I talked to a guy that was believing is stock echo was better suited for curves than a Mustang.. and is last word for saying his car is better is: my car is better for gas mileage...

Default New Camaro

At least GM did not leave us stuck with just a vette when they stopped in 02 with the 35th. You gotta love it or hate it...

I agree.

America is still buying sporty cars. But the 4th gens weren't really a sporty car for the masses. It was a love it or hate it car, that generally only appealed to an auto enthusiast due to many of the design aspects.

The Mustang has always been more "general public" friendly. If the new Camaro is anything like that, then it will sell well.

IMO, the 4th gen V8 F-bodies are a hardcore, brute force modern muscle car (great for people like myself and most other's on this site, but not the general public). I think the new Camaro will be more of a refined performance coupe (in comparison to the 4th gens) that will appeal to more than just the enthusiast extremists found on this site.

Camaro will be priced competitively with equivalent-level Mustangs.
Challenger will be the most expensive of the trio by several thousand.

I feel just the opposite, it's not nearly retro enough. It looks to futuristic to me.

Uhhh, the Challenger is going to start at $31,000, with the R/T around 50K. Not to mention the Challenger will probably be heavier than Rosie O'Donnell. I'm sure the Camaro will start waaaaaay less than that. It's supposed to be comparable in price to the Mustang.

The Camaro's design is already outdated, they should have come out with this car in '05

I voted a 10, I love the new Camaro! For the first time since I was 16 I have been really looking forward to buying an F-body, I feel the same way as I did back then. I just can't wait till I have one, which will be my first new F-body. I got the TA used when I was 16, 7 years ago. Should be cool to see one sitting next to my 4th gen.

dont like the front of it?
it doesnt matter, because just like the mustang.. you'll be able to buy a billion "snap on the front inplace of stock" body kits for it.

SOMEONE will make a "hidden headlight" RS/SS front... ect....
