Default The Biggest Damn Tires You Can Fit. Pictures Included

a lot of people want to know what's the biggest tires you can fit on our cars with out any modifications.

these 5th gen Camaro's are not easy to fit with big tires but here is the answer:

m&h 390/40 r17 drag radials

you can use these tires and still keep your brembo big brakes.
my car is stock height in the rear and for a slight rake look, the front is lowered.

in the below pictures I took off my hoosier slicks 28x14.5x16 (for 16's to fit, ya gotta lose the brembo's and put on v-6 brakes) and put on m&h 390/40 r17 drag radials.

after 3 years of street driving with slicks, I finally got caught. I forgot to turn off my red halo's and quickly discovered that red halo's are a cop magnet. however I gotta give the cop credit because he could have given me more than just a tire ticket. he was a really great cop!

the slicks are stamped d.o.t. approved along with another stamping that says "not for street use". a clear example of a paradox.

a steady hand and a demel removes the "not for street use" raised letters, but these were new slicks and I didn't yet dremel the "not for street use" raised letters off these new tires yet. I told the cop about the 3 treads and the dot stamp, but he checked for the dot and saw the "not for street use" and I was busted.

after 3 years of street driving slicks and never getting caught, I obviously got complacent. oh well, only cost me a $150.00, a lot cheaper than the race gas in the tank.

the only drawback is, if your front tires are much lower in height than the rear tires, you may trip a light on your dash board. I run skinnys up front that are lower in height than the rears. THE TRICK TO NOT HAVING A LIGHT POP-UP on your dash is to turn off the traction control before you start driving. however, if you forget like I always do, you can simply clear the light by leaving your battery disconnected over night.

these tires are great for evil nasty rotten impressive burnouts. you may even attract attention from nearby females who are dazzled by your macho display of burnout power. ok...the part about attracting females is the only lie in this post. please forgive me.

It's a 29.5 x 12.5. No reason to kill the gearing with a tire that tall. Just another bad idea by Jannetty Racing.

What size wheels and offset are those 17s? Definitely not 29.5 if car is lowered.

the tires are only for street driving. with my 1 to 1 high gear, its better for highway.
for the track, I use the lower slicks
