yes, it is a God damned shame. What has happened to GM is a disgrace. The unions, government, and Execs should be ashamed of themselves and throw a beating by the general public, just for good measure.

I was looking forward to a Z-28 powered by an LSA, with weight reductions like the Z06. It would have been a bad ****.

I remember with the 1st gen and I think 2nd gen. Camaros you could get a rs/ss.

Think people now associate the SS with the more powerful version of the Camaro just like how people say the same thing about WS6 birds.
I believe it would be a step back to make the z/28 with more horses than the SS.

I do believe that the cts-v coupe is still coming out since they are to far ahead in that project (the thing was lapping the ring) to cancel that.

Hopefully, maybe, somehow, they get the z28 project going again.

The SS was not an appearance package on the Camaro.......before 1966 it was just an appearance package (excluding the 1965 Z16), after 1966 the SS was a performance model just like the Z28.

Would be cool if GM would license the Z28 and give someone all the development work for the Z28 they did. Then sell it like the Lingenfelder C4 Corvette through Chevy Dealers with a full warrenty.

As the poll stands (from way back in June ) it appears that over 42% of LS1tech members speculated the return of the Z28 in a supercharged format. Now with the current news, it appears that GM will finally build it!

Good job on keeping the faith LS1tech'ers!

And to you GM, thank you! Now please lowball the price and outsell the Mustang/GT500!

Default ive

ive been real confused on this topic..

why would the z28 be a more powerful car than the SS, when the SS was always the high end version of the camaro??

either way though.. Id love to see what the new z28 would have to offer.

Because the Z28 is exclusive to the Camaro and it's just marketing. IDK if it's a high powered handler or not, but the 60s Camaro was a smaller, high reving engine and and better handler, if you know your history.

I guess we will find out how well it does on the road courses. I hope it's not just a high powered SS.

If they did make a LSA Z28 (I cant think of what other motor the Z28 would have), it'd be one expensive badass ride, but I don't know if GM could sell enough of them at a reasonable price to profit off them.

Hmm . . . What Motor ? . . . LEMME THINK . . .

How about a 414ci LS3 ( 4.00" stroke and a slightly different cam ) with 500 HP =/- ???

I just read this today, it sounds pretty interesting.
