I don't think there are many options on the SS that you could pass on that would make enough of a difference in weight to consider it a "stripper". This generation is meant to bring refinement, quality comforts, and all-around performance to the Camaro badgeplate. Sure, it'll make turning it into a dragstrip wheel puller that much harder, but that's not what GM is trying to build here.

I'll agree with some here.........you want a stripper: go get a 4th gen and tear the interior out of it.

Yes, you're right. I should've remembered that too as they were single adjustables and my brother figured he could buy/install the Koni double adjustables for still less money then the 1LE option cost.

Actually the 1LE cars got double adjustable Konis (along with 1LE specific springs, and bushings). Some of the LT1 cars got different swaybars as well.

ya the problem is that there are people like the one that owned my car before me who swapped all the shocks on my ss out for cheap *** auto zone shocks. They suck!!! bad wheel hop and ride like crap. My ss is 3480 with 4 bulk rolls of dyna mat (rear wheel hump back all of floor done.) and a set of 3 point umi sub frame connectors. So with out the dyna mat and sub frame connectors I would bet the thing was about 3360 pounds with (12 disk t tops power seats windows locks and rear defrost so striping her down ant going to help ya that much on weight. Yes i was low on fuel and that is the lightest that car gets. No spare tire and only 1/4 a tank of fuel. The dyna mat in the rear helps it hook on a launch alot.

There are plenty of members on here with a Stripper model 4th gen. Crank windows, cloth seats with out power.. hard top. I personally love it minus the crank windows. They are lighter, cloth seats are much better (more comfortable, dont get hot or cold, dont crack) No fumbling with T-Tops or possible leaking. And best of all CHEAPER haha

If they made something like that in the 2010 models id be very happy, tho i doubt they will

My ordered 1SS has cloth seats, no sunroof (option), but has power windows. I will say that the the power windows in fourth gens suck as they go out, but I hope that the 5th gen windows are better.

Pro Stock John do you think there would be a big weight difference without power windows, lock's,cruise control and rear defogger or it really would'nt make a big difference in a 5 Gen .

All that stuff could be 20lbs, so not a biggie.
