A lot of it has to do with sound limit levels. I think at 2200 RPMs the engine cant register more than 35dB or something like that.

With the weight factor degrading acceleration, I wonder how the new Z28 performs next to the '06 GTO. Isn't that year's GTO an LS3 also, or was that only for the late C5?

GTO only had LS1 in 04 and LS2 in 05-06 cars.

1. I think the car looks great, who gives a damn about the engine cover, i mean really, how much is your hood gonna be open for others to see, and if it is, all i see is potential to hid lines and solenoids, but thats just me.
2. The wheels are sick, that gun metal grey color and 20inch rims, from the factory, isnt that what people look for when they go rim shopping, and it comes STOCK with it yet theres just a bunch of whining.
3. That is a badass interior. Simple, elegant, and looks solid. You mean we wont have cracks in our dashes, or rattles within 25K miles???? You mean panels that make up our dash will ACTUALLY line up after a few years . If you look at all the switch gear, you can see its light years better then our window/door locks switch or our chicken bone turn signal, hells, it looks better then a new Vettes switch gear.
4. Im buying one, and laughing my way into the twelves, take turns much faster then i should have, in complete luxury and comfort, and didnt have to get and AMG Benz or BMW M Car to do it.
5. If this car falls apart after a year, im buying said AMG Benz (a used CLS63) and never buying another American car ever...

Funny...my car is 1999 f- body and interior panels line up good, has no rattles and no t-top leaks...a freak, maybe. I like to think it has been well taken for, a bit of tender loving care and maintenance goes a long way...IMO.

^interior panels line up good? I can stick my whole hand in between the door panel and the side of the dash... I can pry off the HVAC/radio and dash vent bezels with just 1 finger. My car even has somewhat new (1-2 years old) t-top seals and it still leaks. I bought it with full service records, 1 owner and I've taken care of it. No amount of maintenance and TLC can correct a car with a crappy interior, sorry

The fact is that the 5th gen is pretty much a 2 generations newer car than the 4th gen. 2003-2009 was more than enough for another gen Camaro, and the fact is newer cars are just getting bigger and heavier than their older models.

The LS2 GTO should be pretty close to the new SS in terms of performance... the SS will be carrying a bit more weight with some more power and newer IRS.

Now we have to figure out how to shave off 300lbs. Looks cool though just wish it wasn't so much of a land yacht.

So.. Are we going to be able to stick a tire comparable to a 315 out back???
Is there enough room?

Also how does the after market look?
anything seen or heard of that will be available?

So they're keeping the dual headlights and not the quad headlight variant that appeared on several prototypes?

Thanks for sharing info and pictures.
Sorry I never hit the rev-limiter.

That was my opinion....I dont care if I can shove a body part between the panels, I care for other, more manly things when it comes to my car. If you want a pretty, perfect, detailed interior go buy an european or something.

What the fact is, is that you are comparing apples and oranges. Of course the interior looks solid....is new, for christsakes!!!

ok so since the G8 and camaro are built on the same plate form. then a camaro is basicaly just a 2 door G8. and since the g8 does ok i the snow. does that mean a camaro should do ok in the snow.

i am looking for a daily driver car. and well idk if i wwant a 4 door. and since the camaro aint much of a "sport car"(due to wieght and godly big size) do you think the camaro would be ok for a dd in snow?

Scott Settlemier (sp?, Fbodfather) said that his that he picked up was pretty good in the snow. I believe he drove his from Detroit to Cleveland in the snow. Get some snow tires on there and I would think you would be alright.

i was hopeing the new camaro could at least hang with the 03/04 cobras stock. looks like it will be very close but 03s have went 12.4@114. so its not looking to good but i do like the car and overall platform better than the 4th gens. the ls3 has alot more potential than the ls1.
